Hooking Up Internet Through Phone Jack

I have internet upstairs threw a modem plugged into a phone jack was wondering if there was anyway to kinda recreate that in my room threw a separate modem.

Hooking up internet through phone jack. To convert a phone jack into an ethernet jack that can be connected to a computer install a dsl modem using the telephone jack in your home. This will allow you to install your telephone jack along with the cable that you ll use to connect to the network interface device box. If the phone line does not seem to be working you may need to unscrew the new jack and make sure the wires are connected to the proper places and correctly screwed in. A few supplies from an electronics shop are needed.

With either type of cable once the cable is run to the jack location wiring the jack is a simple matter of matching up the correct wire colors. Category cable works just as well as the old cable for phone service and it works much better for data such as for a dsl internet connection. Your phone should have a dial tone and your internet connection should work now as long as your computer is correctly set up for a dsl connection. Install your telephone jack if necessary. Don t let the need for a home phone keep you from cutting the cable and switching to an internet only plan.
