High Wheel Mowers Vs Low Wheels

Whereas at one time all mowers had plastic wheels of a common diameter the wheel feature of your new push mower is just as innovative and improved as any other part of the machine.
High wheel mowers vs low wheels. However a high wheel model replaces the 8 inch rear. The front wheels on each mower have 8 inch diameter standard sized wheels. High wheel models which can cost 20 to 40 more for an otherwise identical mower have larger wheels diameters about 9 to 12 inches on the rear for a smoother motion over bumpy turf. They roll easier than 8 but don t have the problems of the really high wheel mowers the wheels tend to wobble as they wear and you have to press down harder on the handle to raise the front wheels to turn not a big problem when the bagger is full.
High wheels in mowers have definite advantages and all translate into ease of use. Standard low wheel models have the same size wheels diameter of about 8 inches on the front and on the rear. Low wheel models also have 8 inch wheels in the rear of the mower. They also don t dig holes when you re turning in a sandy area.
I like 10 maybe 12 rear wheels on a mower like snapper uses. But if you tend to set a mower at one height and leave it for the life of the mower as do most people you won t miss this feature either.
